CHOPARD’S TRIBUTE TO AN EXCEPTIONAL RACE – Grand Prix de Monaco

2014 is the ninth edition of the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, the vintage version of one of the most famous Formula 1 Grand Prix Races in the world. Every year, the Automobile Club de Monaco creates vintage-style posters to promote the event. Every two years since 2002, Chopard has presented a limited edition watch to celebrate this Grand Prix. From 2014, the G.P.M.H. collection will become a separate line within the Classic Racing collection.

In 1997, the first Grand Prix de Monaco Historique was created to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the reign of the Grimaldi dynasty. As official timekeeper and sponsor since 2002, Chopard has created a collection of exceptional timepieces paying tribute to the competition. Inspired by these classic cars in terms of both their finishing and their performance, all are equipped with a caliber that is chronometer-certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
Organized by the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is an impressive retrospective of Monaco’s famous Formula 1 race. Every two years, more than 200 drivers from 19 different countries gather at the starting line with exceptional Grand Prix racing cars dating from 1947 to 1978, competing in one of the seven categories listed by the organization.

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique features racing cars dating from the 1920s through to 1985
